I love creating art. This is why...

Taking an idea, and creating something new and original is the most satisfying thing you can do. I probably feel this way because I spent so many years machining custom one of a kind parts out of metal.

It is the same kind of satisfication when you take a completely blank canvas, and turn it into a piece of art that thousands, or millions of people can enjoy. There is just something so rewarding when you finish your work day, or your work week, or even your work month and you have made something that has never been done before.

Coming up with an idea that you have never seen before, and putting brush to canvas to bring your idea to life is an amazing feeling. Some paintings are more popular than others of course, but every painting I have ever done has my heart and soul poured into it.

I remember once I mentioned on instagram that a painting took me over 50 hours to do. Two different artists told me they have never spent more than four or five hours on a single painting because they couldn't "Charge that much" for their paintings.

I have never calculated how much money I make per hour on a painting because honestly it would probably be very depressing. Haha.

I want to make art that will last for centuries.

I dont mean that a canvas is still intact in hundreds of years, I want people to be looking at Jay GEEKer art in the year 3030 and saying "WOW! How was this even done that long ago?!"

When i started creating Pop Art over a year ago, I told myself that I was going to be an artist for 30 years. I have 29 years left, and I am so excited to see where my art style will go. The paintings I do now are similar to the ones I was doing a year ago, but they are much more sophisticated and complex.

I have no idea what I will be painting in 5, 10, or 25 years from now. I can guarantee you though, that whatever I will be working on will be done with passion, hard work, and the love of creating something original.

What can i say,
